Tumbling Jewyorican

Ask me a question!    This is where I post interesting and important things I find in the series of tubes y'all call the internet

Gay presidential candidate Fred Karger has a message. The longtime political advisor knows he stands no chance of becoming the Republican nominee, but he wants to let others know it’s OK to be gay and to aim high in life.

This is just sad. I’m glad that he is sending an inspirational message, but at the same time I’m angry at the GOP (even though I’m not a Republican) for not supporting him because of his sexual orientation.

I hope that one day (soon) the GOP will shed it’s silly right wing Xtian identity and embrace ALL people who consider themselves to be Republicans. I think that’s one of the reasons why, -despite all the bigotry and idiocy going on in the party- I’m still registered as a Republican. I want to (through primary voting and sane candidate contributions) bring the party to where (I think) should be. Fiscally conservative, socially libertarian, constitution abiding, and gun nutty. I’m all of those things and not a Christian. And religion has nothin to do with being those things. And a gay person can be all of those things too. The GOP has been taken over by people who really suck. I’m a republican who likes gay people and guns. Deal with it.

    A thought on homophobia

I think people are using the term homophobia incorrectly. A true ‘homophobe’ would fear gays the way I fear flying insects (I hyperventilate and have a panic attack if bugs land on me- I can’t go into the butterfly exhibit at the zoo because I freak out). If you hyperventilate or break out into a cold sweat or have a panic attack or run away screaming around gay people then you have homophobia. If you don’t, and you want to discriminate against them anyway by not letting them into the army or giving them marriage rights then you aren’t homophobic. You’re an asshole.

Vote For Mark Levine: A Plea From Your Friendly Neighborhood Republican and Her Unborn Child

    Greetings Wahi Democrats!

I’ve never given an endorsement for a Democratic candidate before…and until Obama I’ve never even voted for one. That being said, I think you should vote for Mark Levine.

I don’t know what his platform is. I barely know what he’s running for (his flyer says state senate so i’ll assume it’s that). I looked at his website once, and only because my husband (the ineffable-and Democrat- Mr Levin) and I appear in a group shot with him on the homepage. I met him once also (which is how I ended up in said group shot) and he seems like a nice enough Jewish guy with well designed flyers. And he gives @lolitapop9 some kind of electoral democrat boner. But that’s not a reason to vote for someone.

I can’t give you a policy reason to vote for him. I don’t know his policies- and even if I did I’m sure I would disagree with most of them. The only reason I can give you to vote for Mark Levine is because he doesn’t have one of those fucking loud obnoxious asshole loudspeaker campaign trucks.

The guy running against him (Adriano Espiallat) has a fucking loud obnoxious asshole loudspeaker campaign truck- and it drives up and down my street blasting Espaillat’s fucking loud obnoxious asshole loudspeaker political message.  This is where my begging comes in (and also where I cash in my ‘republican who voted for obama’ points):

My Dear Sweet Democrats: It’s only primary season. If Espaillat wins the primary, then his fucking loud obnoxious asshole loudspeaker truck will be driving up and down my street blasting his fucking loud obnoxious asshole loudspeaker political message until the general election in NOVEMBER.

My unborn child will very soon be a born child. Please for the love of whatever you worship VOTE FOR MARK LEVINE or else my eventual infant will be woken up (as I have) from much needed naps by Espaillat and his Turtle powered pendejo mobile all through the general election season.

Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please for the sake of my unborn child’s sleep habits and my sanity: VOTE FOR MARK LEVINE for whatever the hell it is he’s running for.

Also: @LisbethJ just tweeted this: “Just called #Adriano Espaillat (212) 544-2278 campaign office for the noise violation of the SCREAMING TRUCK and the manager said so what”

Also Also: Please call 311 and complain about the truck if you hear it. We have noise ordinances and quality of life laws and shit that ought to be followed and enforced.  @Cecilsuave is proud to endorse Mark Levine (and also hates the Espaillat campaign truck)
